Description:

The Andromeda galaxy is our sister galaxy in the local group. It is of a similar size to our galaxy and it lies at a distance of approximately 2.25 million light years. It is the most distant object that can be seen with the unaided eye. Also seen in the image are galaxies M 32 and M 110
