Dr. Jost Migenda

After growing up near Berlin, Jost studied particle and astrophysics in Munich before coming to Sheffield in 2015 as a PhD student. Here, they worked on a next-generation neutrino detector called Hyper-Kamiokande and showed how it can help us understand how supernovae explode. Since 2020, Jost works as a researcher at King’s College London, contributing to both Hyper-Kamiokande and the Supernova Early Warning System. Outside of work, they like physics outreach, languages and way too many podcasts.
