This Thursday we have another "Zoom" webinar!You'll get an invite by means of a web address to login to our online meeting this Thursday - the waiting room will be open from 7:45pm.
The subject this Thursday will be:- Comets. What, How and Why?
If you taken any photo's tonight of the moon on your camera / mobile phone - then we will try to do a "montage" after the talk
Paul D'Silva will discuss what a comet is, how did they come to be and why they can be as predictable as clockwork or random in their occurrence Finally, there will be a briefing for C/2019 Y1 a recently discovered comet that is showing all the signs of something special - but not for us!

The following week we will have a 'Show and Tell' next week? with at least four people to do a few minutes each
Speaker: Paul D’Silva
Paul was raised in Rotherham and on obtaining a degree in Electronic Communications returned to his home town for a career teaching Mathematics and Computing. After joining Mexborough & Swinton Astronomical Society in the mid-2000s Paul has developed his interests in the Solar System, especially the planets and comets as well as manned space flight. He is a regular user of the J A Jones Observatory, patiently waiting for good weather and another bright comet preferably together!
