About Alan

A metallurgist by trade who worked for huge corporations for the majority of his career in the steel sector has owned and operated his own steel forgings company for the past 13 years.

Despite a lifelong fascination with astronomy, Alan has never been a dedicated observer and does not own a telescope. He has attempted to integrate his two interests in astronomy and photography since joining the society, with, he claims, only modest success. However, if you have seen his images, you will realise that this is not totally accurate.
