“How Astronomers Control Your Life”:
“Did you know that every single one of you in the audience has had your life changed today by astronomers studying the night sky? It’s a little known fact that some of the most important technological advancements of the past few decades owe a debt of gratitude to the humble astronomer! After this hour with Prof Brad Gibson, you might just walk away a little surprised by what you learn!”
Please be advised that this meeting will start at 7:30pm so our speaker Prof. Brad Gibson can leave a little earlier for his train. He will begin speaking at 7:45 prompt. So please be early.
Speaker: Prof. Brad Gibson

Brad’s work has gained a degree of notoriety by defining the Milky Way’s Galactic Habitable Zone (named a Top 10 News Story of the Year by National Geographic), determining the expansion rate of the Universe (for which their team was awarded the Gruber Prize in Cosmology), and building the world’s first Liquid Mirror Telescope Observatory. Brad’s 400+ outreach events over the past 6 years have reached more than a million people around the world, including nearly 100 schools and colleges around the UK.
