MSAS

"the advancement of education for the public benefit in astronomy and its associated sciences"

TIME & TIDE

Society Meeting

Thursday, 12th October 2017 (19:45 - 22:00)

Venue: Meeting Room, Swinton Bottom Club (Formerly Swinton WMC)

Tonight's presentation from Alan is based upon some of those astronomical and science questions that pop into his head now and again but that he never got the answer to. Tonight he will answer them.

Speaker: Alan Dobbie

About Alan

A metallurgist by profession and having spent most of his career in the steel industry being in the employ of large companies has for the past 13 years run his own steel forgings business.

Although Alan has had a lifelong interest in astronomy he has never been a serious observer and does not possess a telescope. Since joining the society, he has tried to combine the two hobbies of astronomy and photography with according to him limited success, but if you have seen his photographs then you will know it’s not entirely true.
