Alien Life ?

Society Meeting

Thursday, 17th August 2017 (19:45 - 22:00)

Venue: Meeting Room, Swinton Bottom Club (Formerly Swinton WMC)

Join us tonight for a partially humorous take on whether alien life exists and the search for extra-terrestrial intelligence.

Speaker: Geoff Pike

My background is in Materials Science, Bio-mechanics and the Pharmaceutical industry, having been a Medical Writer and Medical Rep with ICI and Medical Rep with Fisons and I subsequently set up and monitored asthma studies before going freelance covering about 15 disease areas after that.

I have been a member of the Barnsley University of the Third Age for about 3 years and was their Development Officer for a while: I joined the cosmology group coordinated by Dr Frank Lukey and my interest has grown in the subject.

I enjoy painting and drawing, walking, swimming, creative writing, poetry, travel. and enjoy seeing my daughter and family in Cheshire and and keeping in touch  with my elder daughter in Australia.
