The Future of the Universe
Stargazing Live Event
Thursday, 2nd March 2017 (19:45 - 22:00)
Venue: swmcmeet
With the realisation that the Universe will likely to continue to expand, rather than end in a Big Crunch, we are faced with the prospect of a never-ending Universe. In this talk, I will cover what we currently believe will happen to planets, stars, galaxies and the Universe as a whole over the next few trillion years and beyond.
A question and answer session will follow the presentation.
Visitor admission is £2.00.
Disabled access is limited as our clubroom is on the first floor and only accessible by stairs.
Speaker: Dr. James Mullaney
I am an astronomy research fellow based in the Department of Physics and Astronomy at The University of Sheffield. My work is mainly focussed on researching the growth of supermassive black holes over the history of the Universe and how it relates to the growth of the galaxies that host them.
