QUADRANTIDS METEOR SHOWER

Venue: The J.A. Jones Hoober Observatory
The Quadrantids are an above average shower, with up to 40 meteors per hour at their peak. The shower usually peaks on January 3 & 4, but some meteors can be visible from January 1 - 5. The best viewing will be from a dark location after midnight. Look for meteors radiating from the constellation Bootes.
22.00 hrs till late.
Weather permitting the Observatory will be open to view the Quadrantids Meteor Shower (Best After midnight) and during the evening Jupiter and the constellations of the winter sky. Maybe even Comet C/2013 US10 (Catalina)
We will provide guidance about what you will be viewing and will be on hand to answer any questions you may have.
Bring your own telescope if you wish.
Parking is available at the observatory.
Please ensure that you are dressed for the outdoors as the Observatory has no heating or toilet facilities.
