David will describe how the planets formed from dust in the protoplanetary disc at the time the Sun formed, through rocks, planetesimals, proto-planets and finally into fully formed planets.
He will introduce a number of up-to-date theories to explain the formation of the solar system as we now see it.

Regular animations allow the listener to understand current concepts as to how our solar system formed.

My name is David Temperley. I am a medical doctor, a consultant radiologist. I have been interested in astronomy since childhood.

Over the last few years I have undertaken a number of online astronomy courses, and have developed a several talks which I enjoy delivering to local astronomy clubs.
