Biosignatures.

Guest Speaker

Thursday, 4th November 2021 (19:45 - 22:00)

Venue: Virtual Meeting

My current research is focused on biosignatures - molecules which can act as indicators of life. The project requires a lot of quantum chemistry and molecular physics. For my talk I will be discussing all about biosignatures.

Speaker: Thomas Cross

"Currently I’m doing a Ph.D. at Hull in astrophysics, where I am branching out into both astrochemistry and astrobiology.

With regards to my background, previously as part of my Masters, I lived in Svalbard and researched the Aurora at the EISCAT radar system there. My undergraduate degree (integrated Masters) was done at Aberystwyth University. After completing my masters I also worked as a teacher in Hangzhou, China where I taught English as a foreign language and science."
